Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
–1 Corinthians 6:19-20
God doesn’t rent: He either owns a space or He doesn’t.
He has put out an offer for everyone, whether a body has been trashed and is on the brink of foreclosure or is fully upgraded and meticulously cared for.
God has offered more than full price for each person on the planet. Once His Spirit moves in, He begins to improve His property.
He renovates and renews. He takes over your security, your pest control, your home repairs. Every one of His children’s lives is under construction. He is there in the chaos with us, working to bring good out of it all. He is even there when we deliberately destroy our minds or our bodies.
Paul tells us that our body is God’s temple.
How can we be a good host for such an incredible guest? He is infinite; we are finite. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End; we are literally made of dust. All we can do is meditate on loving God and recognize that during our life on Earth, we will be a work in progress.
Praise God: every one of His children is under construction.
Prayer
Dear Lord, Thank You for making me Your own. Though I am nothing without You, as Your child, I have infinite value. Thank You for never giving up on me. Continue to mold me to Your will and for Your service. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

What areas of my life are currently under God’s construction?
