Therefore keep the words of this covenant and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.
–Deuteronomy 29:9
Sir Harry Platt always remembered what his father said to him: “Turn your scar into a star.”
Platt’s “scar” was the fact that he was weak and sickly as an infant and child. He took that scar and made it a star by studying medicine.
He eventually became the President of the Royal Society of Medicine and of the Royal College of Surgeons of England before passing away in 1986 at the age of 100.
Whatever our Heavenly Father wants you to do will allow you to live a life of spiritual prosperity and abundant blessings. When you listen to God’s leading and obey as Sir Harry Platt did, any scars you have, God will turn into stars and you will surely prosper.
You will live a life overflowing with joy and satisfaction. When God is on your side, no one can stop you from benefitting from His wonderful power. This is what Paul meant when he said, “If God is for us who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Prayer
Dear God, Please give me a passion to keep Your promises. Please bless my efforts and let my spirit prosper. Help me to turn my scars into stars. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Reflection
How can I turn my scars into stars? Does a “prosperous life” mean a life full of earthly wealth and empty of difficulty?
