We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
–1 John 5:20
The Apostle Paul spent time among the learned men and women of Athens who discussed the latest news and voiced their thoughts on life.
From these discussions came some great works of literature and amazing scientific discoveries. But they also resulted in some far-fetched ideas about how the world was created and who or what was in control of the universe.
Paul knew these deep thinkers relied heavily on logic and evidence to prove whether or not something was true.
So that is how he approached them when sharing the truth of Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection. The Bible tells us he reasoned with them and proved to them the Good News of the Gospel (Acts 17). He took the time to walk them through God’s truth; beginning with creation and the prophecies, to the fulfillment of them through Jesus. Many believed and were baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of sins.
Romans 1:19-21 tells us God created us with an inborn knowledge that He is the Creator and Master of the universe. But because of sin and free will, many have chosen to reject or ignore that knowledge. What about you? Do you know there is only one God and one Savior, who is Jesus?
How does your life reflect the truth you know?
Prayer
Dear God, Please keep my mind and my heart open to Your truth. Help me live a life that reflects the truth and shares it with others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Who will I tell about Jesus this week?
