But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.
–Psalm 5:11
Not long ago I was standing in the park, watching the sunset and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation: nature.
As I looked around at all there was to see, I said, “Jesus, everything is so beautiful.”
Then I felt that He replied to me in a soft voice: “Among all of these things, you are the most beautiful to me!”
What an uplifting surprise! I felt so empowered. His warmth filled my heart.
Yes, I thought, Jesus covers me. I am under His wings. There I find refuge. As I considered such beautiful words, my soul rejoiced wholeheartedly, flying sky high without any limitation.
I was also comforted and encouraged by the fact that God loves me even more than He loves the beauty of the Earth and all of its fantastic magnificence.
When you are going through trying times, when nothing seems to go right, or when you feel anxious and depressed, try to remember what Jesus has done for you.
Look around at all the beauties He has made and know you are loved even more than these.
Prayer
O, Wonderful God, I praise You with all my heart, mind, soul, and body. I will praise You always and I will be forever grateful for what You have done for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Reflection
What song expresses my gratitude toward God most effectively with warmth in my heart? Could I sing it now?
