Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.
–Genesis 28:15
How many half-done projects do you have hiding in your closet shelves?
How many pieces of sporting equipment are tucked away in your garage because the activity ended up being more difficult or more work than you expected?
How many times have you said something to a friend like, “Let’s get together for lunch soon?” but six months later you still haven’t gone? How many times have you told your kids, “I’ll play with you later,” or “We’ll go there sometime?” Yet they’re still waiting.
God doesn’t make promises He doesn’t keep. God doesn’t leave us hanging to do anything or go anywhere on our own.
If you aren’t enjoying the rewards of God’s promises or if you feel alone and struggling to survive, it may because you aren’t allowing God to be present in your life.
God is always there, but He never forces Himself on us. He is always ready to step in and take you by the hand, leading you to safety and to the blessings He wants to give you, but He will never drag you down the path that is His will for your life.
The choice is yours. Will you let Him lead? Trust God to take you where He knows you need to be.
Prayer
Dear God, Please take away my pride and stubborn nature. Let me put my full trust in You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Reflection
In what ways am I holding back from giving God complete control of my life and my destiny here on earth?
