When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.
–Daniel 6:10
I was so poor I had to drop out of college because I had no way to pay for it.
I didn’t know what to do about the situation, so I did the only thing I could think to do. I prayed. I went to a quiet room in my church and poured my heart out to God in prayer, asking Him to lead me in fulfilling my goals to complete my Christian education in order to preach the Good News of Jesus all around the world.
God answered my prayer by giving me a miraculous blessing. A lady in my church who was always a source of encouragement to me arranged to provide money for my tuition for two years.
Some time later, I found out that the lady paid for my education because she had overheard me praying that day in church. She wanted to be the instrument God used to answer my prayers.
Often, that is the way it works.
God uses all sorts of different people and situations to answer the prayers that are the desires of your heart. God is an amazing and creative God. He can and will answer your prayers just like He answered Daniel’s prayers and mine.
Prayer
All-Powerful God, I want to pray with boldness each day as Daniel did. Please give me the kind of faith Daniel had. I want to pray knowing and believing You will answer my prayers according to Your will. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen.
Reflection
How can I make prayer more of a priority in my life as Daniel did? How has God answered the prayers I have prayed?
