A devotion on Matthew 21:9
|Pastor Ken||Mar 25|
The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Imagine being in the crowd celebrating Jesus as King in the streets of Jerusalem.
Feel the excitement! The crowd is shouting, “Hosanna!” — an expression of joy and praise for deliverance. Lift up your voice! Shout praises to your King!
Every day you experience the joy that comes with knowing Jesus is a day to shout “Hosanna!”
Jesus’ desire is for each of us to experience the only real joy: joy found in Him. As John 15:11 says, “I have told you this so that my joy may be with you and that your joy may be complete.”
Listen to David’s poetic joy:
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them sing joyful praises forever.
Spread your protection over them,
that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
Again, he expressed his joy so eloquently,
I know the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety.
You can rejoice in Jesus when life is tough all around you. Lift up your voice in praise to your King today!
Hosanna to the Lord! Thank You for the joy found only in You. In the joyful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
What songs of joy and praise will I sing to Jesus today?
