Jesus as the Source of Power

A devotion on Revelation 17:14

“These will war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and those who are with him are called chosen and faithful.”
–Revelation 17:14

Take a moment to think about the amazing power you have because of Jesus Christ.

Cling to this truth: unlimited victory over anything can be yours when you stand firm and strong in the “Lord of lords, and King of kings.”

Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins. Because of this, you have the power to stand firm fighting against the world, against your sinful body, and against Satan.

Satan works diligently to entangle you in his schemes. But he doesn’t stand a chance of succeeding when you believe in and call on the power of Almighty God. When you are close to Christ, He will be close to you (James 4:8).

So keep Jesus real and present every minute of every day of your life. Remember: “the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). Think often about His life. Explore the mysteries of His sacrifice for you and for me.

In doing so, you can face anything because Jesus is the only source of power you need.

Dear God, Please help me focus on Jesus and on His Almighty power so I will have a victorious life. I want to be close to You. I want to have you call me “chosen” and “faithful.” In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

What will I do as part of my daily routine to help me stay more focused on Jesus and His mighty power?
