Included in God’s Plan
A devotion on Amos 3:2a, 7

“I have only chosen you of all the families of the earth. Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.”
–Amos 3:2a, 7
In spite of their disobedience and rebellion, in spite of their lack of faith and near-constant complaining, God chose the Israelites to be His precious children.
God constantly loved them in spite of their shortcomings because that’s who God is.
When Jesus came and took the sin of the world upon His shoulders, dying on the cross in our place, He included all of us — not just the Israelites — in God’s plan for salvation.
What a sacrifice! What a Savior! He chose to include you and me in His divine family!
We must NEVER take God and His amazing grace and love for granted.
Don’t assume that because God’s love is unconditional, we can do whatever we want without giving it a second thought.
God’s love is unconditional, but it is only when we faithfully walk with Him in the footsteps of Jesus that we can receive the blessings and the hope of eternity reserved for God’s chosen children.
Have a wonderful day and live with the confident hope of being God’s chosen child.
God in Heaven, Thank You for choosing me as Your child. Help me to appreciate all the miraculous, wonderful things Jesus has done for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
What will I do today to reflect my status of being loved and chosen by God?
