For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
–Romans 1:17
When you put your faith in God, He never disappoints.
When Noah had faith that God’s warning was real, his life and the lives of his family members were spared.
God spared Isaac’s life in return for Abraham’s faithfulness.
Daniel’s faith protected him from being eaten by lions.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s faith kept the heat off of them (literally).
Faith is what allowed pregnant, unmarried Mary to stand against the ridicule and shunning of family and friends.
Faith is why James, John, Peter, Andrew, and the other disciples were able to leave the safety and familiarity of their everyday lives to follow Jesus.
Faith enabled Paul to endure great personal pain and hardship to spread the good news of Jesus to new believers.
Faith brings us to the foot of the cross. There we receive salvation and the hope that we will spend eternity in heaven with God the Father and Jesus the Son — the Savior in whom we put all our hope and faith. Jesus never disappoints.
Prayer
God in Heaven, Thank You for the Bible that teaches truth and illustrates faith in action. Thank You for Jesus and His sacrifices — the reasons for my faith. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Reflection
When has it been difficult for me to have strong faith? Why? What can I do to grow my faith and make it stronger?
