Exploding with Blessings!
A devotion on Numbers 6:24-26
|Pastor Ken||Jan 1|
The LORD bless you, and keep you. The LORD make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up his face toward you, and give you peace.
I pray that God will give you an explosion of blessings throughout the New Year.
What is an “explosion of blessings?” The apostle Paul refers to it as “the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us” (Ephesians 2:7 AMP).
My son was a toddler when I was in college in England. Money was tight and my wife was concerned that we were not feeding our son as well as we should. So we humbly asked God to bless us with some bananas and a few vegetables.
Later that evening, when I went to the grocery store, the owner said since it was almost closing time I could take as many fruits and vegetables from the ones he set aside that he would not be able to sell the next day. I ended up with nearly ten times more than I could have purchased. And when I got home I found a basket full of fresh bananas and vegetables on our doorstep! We called it the angel’s basket. God had blessed us explosively -- far beyond what we could imagine.
He will do the same for you, too, if you ask Him for His blessing, and trust that He will give it.
Dear God, This New Year’s Day, I claim Your promise to bring an explosion of blessings in my life. Please take our relationship to a level higher than I can imagine. In the name of Jesus, the source of all blessings, I pray, Amen.
How would I vividly express what explosive blessings I want to experience this New Year? I will ask for them in faith, believing such blessings will happen.
